Factors Associated With The Publication Practices Of Doctors Working In Hospitals In Cusco, Peru

Abstract

With the objective of determining the factors associated with the publication practices of doctors who work in hospitals in the city of Cusco, Peru, an analytical cross-sectional study was carried out, which included all doctors from hospitals in the city of Cusco, Peru. city ​​in 2014. The search for publications was carried out in the Google Scholar, SciELO, Medline and Scopus databases. Of the 414 doctors, 17% published an original article in a scientific journal at least once in their lives and 4% published an article in a journal indexed in Scopus in the last 3 years. Doctors from the Adolfo Guevara Velasco National Hospital presented the highest frequency of scientific publication (49%). The original article was the most published (69%), while the most researched area was medicine (51%). Being a professor at a medical school was a factor associated with having published an original article in the three periods evaluated.
